Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), Accounting About the Company Leading biopharmaceutical company IndustryPharmaceuticals TypePrivately Held About the Role The Company is seeking a Vice President of Accounting and Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to serve as a strategic leader in all accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit oversight, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal policies. This role involves leading the audit process, overseeing controllership functions, and maintaining the integrity of financial systems. The VP of Accounting/CAO will also be involved in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, and will play a key role in equity management, including the administration of equity compensation programs. Candidates for this position must have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, a CPA certification, and a minimum of 12 years' progressive accounting leadership experience, with at least 7 years in a senior management or executive-level role. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance is essential, as is hands-on experience with SAP or other public company financial reporting systems. The role requires a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage audit relationships, and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree, additional certifications such as CMA or CFA, and significant experience in M&A, ERP systems, and financial transformation. Executive leadership training and experience in corporate governance are also preferred.
