We are currently accepting resumes for Chief Engineers forfull-time employment based out of Caribou, NS or Wood Islands PE. Chief Engineers provide leadership and direction to theengineering personnel and provide training to recruits within the organization.They are knowledgeable and experienced in vessel operations, environmentalprotection, pollution regulations and safety management systems andresponsibilities include: Vessel planned maintenance system. Reporting, tracking, resolving deficiencies/repairs. vessel inventory of spare parts. Ensuring the vessel and equipment is operated incompliance with the company policies and procedures and Classification Society. Enforcement of safe work procedures, policies and thewearing of personal protective equipment. Leading and supervising the engineering department inadherence to company safety management system. Scheduling and supervise all engine room crew whileadhering to collective agreements. Management of engineering department crew schedules andpay. Certification: 1st or 2nd Class Motor Certificate. Valid Seafarers Medical Certificate and all otherrelevant certificates required to maintain CoC. Qualifications: Proven leadership/supervisory skills, includingdemonstrated success with leading, motivating, mentoring, and growing a team. Ability to work in confined spaces. Working knowledge of critical operations and SMSdocumentation. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proven track record of safe operations. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Experience with passenger services would be an asset. Canadian citizen or permanent residence status forpositions in Canada. Asset Qualifications: Marine STCW 6.1 and 6.2 Courses, including valid MEDrefresher. Passenger Safety Management & Specialized PassengerSafety Management Marine Advanced First Aid Certificate.
