Black Ltd and Black Micro Corporation we work every day to earn the slogan On Track With Black.As a Chief Estimator at Black Construction, reporting to the Senior Vice President & General Manager, you will have the opportunity to:Be the primary member of the estimating team who has overall responsibility for the creation of quantity takeoffs, bill of materials, budgets and estimates.Manage and coordinate the people, software and other resources used to perform the estimating functions.Assigns responsibilities for Black's estimating team for each RFP.Reviews project plans and specifications and coordinates with the team to confirm complete scope.Identify risk issues and their order of magnitude.Coordinates the solicitation of subcontractor and material vendor/supplier information & pricing.Coordinates bid bond requirements for RFPs.Prepares instructions to subcontractors, bid form and other bid solicitation information as required.Performs and/or manages the quantity survey and pricing effort for internal budgets.Prepares conceptual budgets based on minimal information.Reviews general conditions, schedule, scopes of work, hoisting plans, site logistics and other exhibits as prepared by Operations.Reviews and/or manages the review and scoping of specialty contractor bids. Coordinates insurance requirements with Risk Manager.Coordinates technical proposal requirements with Marketing Department.Maintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.Analyze alternate means and methods to determine the most economic alternative.Builds effective relationships with customers, design teams, specialty contractors, suppliers, and user groups that reflect and support company core values and meets or exceeds the customer's expectations.Actively participates in industry, client and community relations to enhance company image.Performs other related duties as needed.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field or a related program from an accredited institution.Ten (10) or more years of estimating experience demonstrating successful progression of increasing responsibility.Experience leading estimating efforts on civil, building or commercial and federal projects involving cast in place concrete or structural steel of $20M or more.Previous experience managing estimating and take-off personnel.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience with HCSS, Procore and Primavera P6, and MS Excel or similar software.Experience on Federal or municipal projects is preferred.Black Construction builds extraordinary projects, and we need exceptional talent.
