The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Morehouse General Hospital is a pivotal role that reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for maintaining the financial integrity of the hospital and overseeing all financial and accounting operations. This position demands exceptional leadership skills and a hands-on approach to financial management, strategic planning, and performance improvement across the organization.

The CFO is charged with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and adherence to regulatory requirements. This role also includes developing strategic financial plans, ensuring compliance with laws and guidelines, collaborating with department leaders on financial performance, and serving as a key advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors. Moreover, the CFO will foster effective relationships with external financial stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Oversight: Manage all financial aspects of the hospital, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and audit processes.
• Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the leadership team to formulate and execute financial and operational strategies that align with the hospital's goals and mission.

• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and laws while actively managing financial risks.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain robust relationships with external auditors, bankers, suppliers, and other key stakeholders to facilitate effective financial management.
• Data Analysis: Use data analytics to monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement in operational efficiencies and revenue generation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• Master's degree or CPA certification is strongly preferred.

Experience

• Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is required.
• Proven experience as a CFO or similar role with demonstrated financial acumen and strategic thinking.
• Experience with financial management software and electronic health records.
