Position Title: CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
DUTIES:
The Chief Financial officer (CFO) is responsible for all financial matters of Hospice of Huntington, Inc. The CFO reports to and works closely with the President and CEO. In addition, the CFO collaborates with the senior management and the board of directors to develop and implement strategies across the organization. The CFO must be able to adapt to a continually evolving environment and thrive in an autonomous and deadline-oriented workplace while managing finance, medical records, and Information Technology (IT) employees. The CFO participates in various meetings and committees.
Functions:
- Oversees the financial status of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.
- Prepares all financial statements.
- Reconciles all balance sheet accounts.
- Maintains integrity of the computer data in accordance with current financial and HIPAA regulations.
- Maintains accurate records of receivables and payables.
- Responsible for accurate and timely payroll.
- Accountable for financial decisions about minor cash management issues in the absence of the President and CEO.
- Prepares statistical financial data for the leadership of the organization.
- Conducts a monthly financial audit to determine the agencies fiscal status.
- Prepares a yearly cost report.
- Prepares company budget information
- Oversees the financial operation of Hospice of Huntington, Inc. in the absence of the President and CEO.
- Ensures that medical records are complete processed timely and meet all regulatory guidelines
- Participates in MVI meetings and management meetings
- Member of the Finance Panel
- Regularly meets with the Development Director to facilitate communication and documentation of activities that affect the finances.
- Attends Board of Trustee meetings as directed by CEO
Position Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in business or finance, CPA certification, preferred
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a health care setting, preferred.
- Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting
