Position Overview:The CFO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, reporting, and risk management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial operations in the education sector, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while driving financial sustainability and strategic growth.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the institution’s mission and long-term goals.Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability.Manage accounting, treasury, payroll, and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive leadership team and board of directors to support data-driven decision-making.Lead risk management initiatives, including financial audits, compliance, and internal controls.Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to optimize resource allocation and enhance operational efficiency.Oversee funding sources, including grants, endowments, tuition revenue, and state/federal funding, ensuring proper utilization and reporting.Build and maintain relationships with financial institutions, auditors, regulatory agencies, and key stakeholders.Implement and oversee financial technology solutions to enhance reporting, forecasting, and financial management.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior finance role within the education sector (K-12, higher education, or private institutions).In-depth knowledge of educational funding models, financial aid, grants, and compliance requirements.Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders.Expertise in financial reporting, budget management, and risk assessment.Experience with enterprise financial systems, ERP platforms, and data analytics tools.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a results-driven approach.
