The CISO will be responsible for campus-wide information security and assurance, including the identification, evaluation, and reporting of security risks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. This role involves executing security planning, design, and maintenance, as well as establishing relationships with key stakeholders to develop security policies and best practices. The successful candidate will also be tasked with leading strategic security planning, defining security strategies and metrics, and managing security tools and processes for continuous monitoring and response. Candidates for the CISO position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10-12 years' of experience in information security and compliance, with at least 4 years' in a senior leadership role. Experience in a large, research-intensive higher education institution, military, or not-for-profit, is preferred. The CISO will be expected to generate security solutions to enhance the company's security posture and manage a campus-wide information security incident response team. The role requires a professional who is adept at managing digital forensics, post-incident analysis, and reporting, and who is well-versed in information security issues and regulatory changes, particularly those affecting higher education at the state and national levels. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or similar, are also preferred.
