The COO will be a key partner to the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team, responsible for the day-to-day business operations, strategic planning, and the management of the organization's infrastructure, processes, human capital, and financial resources. This role requires a capable manager with a proven ability to bring organizational leadership and operating cohesion to a rapidly evolving, mission-based environment. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree, with a master's degree preferred, and at least 8 years of upper-level management experience, particularly in a nonprofit setting. Superlative communication, interpersonal management, financial, and project management skills are essential, as is the ability to lead and support a talented operational team. The COO will oversee the integration of program activity, club facilities, and the staff and systems that support them. They must be adept at financial management, including budgeting, financial analysis, and risk management, and be able to ensure that the organization's goals are met within its financial capacity. The role also involves being a trusted advisor to the CEO, serving as a proxy when necessary, and leading by example in the commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The successful candidate will have a strong background in staff supervision and development, program implementation, and a proven track record of attracting and developing high-performance teams. Experience in a similar nonprofit environment, particularly with youth development, is highly valued.
