The OpportunityThis is more than a traditional Chief Operating Officer role. The COO provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure efficient, compliant, and member-focused delivery of all financial services.The COO partners closely with the CEO to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, digital innovation, and a culture aligned with our mission and values. The COO holds enterprise-wide responsibility for operational performance, infrastructure scalability, regulatory alignment, and execution of strategic growth initiatives.What You Will LeadAs Chief Operating Officer, you will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, translating enterprise vision into disciplined operational execution that enables sustainable growth, innovation, and long-term resilience. You will provide executive oversight of all operational functions, ensuring scalable infrastructure, regulatory strength, and exceptional member service. Working closely with the executive leadership team, you will help shape and implement strategy while building an organization capable of expanding without compromising performance, culture, or member trust.The Leader We're SeekingYou are:A strategic thinker who executes decisively.Comfortable in complexity and ambiguity.Data-driven yet people-centered.A collaborative partner who complements and challenges constructively.Energized by transformation and enterprise impact.Demonstrates executive presence and strategic communication appropriate for Board level engagement and regulatory interaction.Calm, credible, and confident in front of Boards, regulators, and stakeholders.QualificationsBachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.Minimum 10 years of experience within a financial institution.At least 5 years in senior executive or enterprise-level leadership.Experience leading within a growth-oriented financial institution, preferably of comparative size and complexity.Deep knowledge of banking services, lending operations, deposit operations, and digital delivery channels.Strong understanding of federal and state financial institution regulations.Experience working with regulators and auditors.Proven track record of driving strategic initiatives that support growth, stability, operational efficiency, and technology advancement.Demonstrated success in leading enterprise-wide transformation.Compensation & BenefitsBase salary range of $250,000 - $325,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications)Participation in our company-wide Annual Performance Bonus PlanComprehensive health and retirement benefits401(k) with competitive employer contributionEligibility for inclusion in the deferred compensation program after one yearFlexible scheduling with a hybrid (remote and in-office) shortened work weekWorking EnvironmentHybrid/Remote work flexibility available.Occasional travel required.Executive-level role requiring regular engagement with Board members, regulators, and external partners.Why This Role MattersThis position is pivotal to the future of our credit union.
