About FarmGPUFarmGPU is a GPU cloud infrastructure company operating bare-metal NVIDIA H100, H200, and B200 clusters from our facility in Rancho Cordova, CA. We operate under a revenue-sharing model with hardware partners, deliver compute capacity through the RunPod Secure Cloud marketplace and direct enterprise deployments, and run a flagship AI storage validation lab in partnership with a leading storage company. We're SOC 2 compliant, actively fundraising, and scaling fast into a market that is projected to reach hundreds of billions in annual GPUaaS revenue by 2030.We're looking for a Chief Operating Officer to own the operating layer of the business — and to be the person who ensures FarmGPU executes with the discipline and speed this market requires. You'll report directly to the CEO and take full ownership of datacenter operations, partner relationships, financial operations, people scaling, and the cross-functional coordination that holds a growing infrastructure company together. The ContextThe neocloud market is moving from a land-grab phase into an operational efficiency phase. The companies that win long-term won't just be the ones with the best hardware access — they'll be the ones that run tighter operations, maximize utilization, structure smarter partner economics, and scale without proportionally scaling headcount or costs.FarmGPU's model is differentiated: we're a revenue-share neocloud operator, not a pure CapEx accumulator. Our partners own hardware; we operate it and generate recurring revenue from utilization. That model has natural leverage — and it requires a COO who understands GPU infrastructure unit economics deeply enough to protect and expand that leverage as we scale. This COO will inherit a functioning operation with strong technical leadership, a CRO focused on revenue and strategic partnerships, an engaged CFO, and a ~15-person team. The job is to take what works and build the operating infrastructure to support 3× the headcount and revenue without proportionally increasing operational friction. What You'll OwnDatacenter & Infrastructure OperationsOwn the end-to-end operational health of our GPU clusters and storage infrastructure — uptime, utilization, SLA performance, and capacity planning.Manage relationships with our colocation facility, power vendors, hardware partners, and OEM support organizations.Drive datacenter build phases: coordinate hardware procurement, deployment scheduling, power and cooling capacity, and go-live timelines across current and future expansion phases.Own the operational metrics that matter: utilization rates, mean time to recovery, CapEx payback trajectory, and goodput per rack.Partner with engineering leadership to ensure operational requirements are built into infrastructure design, not bolted on after.Partner & Revenue OperationsOwn the operational layer of our revenue-share partner relationships: contract execution, reporting cadence, revenue reconciliation, and partner satisfaction.Ensure partner commitments — hardware deployment timelines, SLA terms, reporting obligations — are tracked, met, and surfaced early when at risk.Coordinate with the CRO on deal structure and with the CFO on financial modeling for new partner engagements.Own vendor relationships for critical infrastructure: hardware OEMs, networking vendors, storage partners, and managed services providers.Financial OperationsPartner with the CFO on budgeting, CapEx planning, and operational forecasting, with particular depth on the unit economics of GPU fleet operations: depreciation, utilization, power cost, and payback periods.Own the procurement and AP/AR operational cadence: hardware ordering lead times, vendor payment terms, and capital deployment timing.Ensure financial visibility is accurate and current — the CEO and board should never be surprised by an operational financial issue you knew about first.People Operations & Org ScalingOwn the hiring pipeline for operational and engineering roles: sourcing coordination, process design, offer logistics, and onboarding quality.Build the operational infrastructure to scale from ~15 to 40+ people without losing coordination or culture: onboarding programs, policy frameworks, and performance management cadence.Partner with leadership to anticipate org gaps 2–3 quarters ahead, not reactively.Compliance & RiskOwn the operational side of SOC 2 compliance: evidence collection cadence, vendor compliance documentation, access review scheduling, and audit readiness.Identify and mitigate operational risks — supply chain, vendor concentration, power availability, hardware lifecycle — before they become incidents.Ensure contractual obligations across NDAs, MSAs, and SOWs are tracked, understood, and met across the company. What You Bring10+ years of operations leadership in datacenter infrastructure, GPU cloud, HPC, colocation, or AI infrastructure — with P&L exposure and direct accountability for uptime, utilization, and cost.Deep literacy in GPU infrastructure unit economics: you've managed the math of CapEx-backed GPU fleets, power costs, depreciation schedules, utilization targets, and payback periods. You can build and challenge a financial model for a new GPU cluster deployment without needing a translator.Experience managing multi-party partner relationships at an infrastructure company — revenue-share structures, OEM vendor management, colocation agreements, or enterprise SLAs with real financial consequences.Proven ability to scale an infrastructure operations team: hiring, onboarding, org design, and performance management in a technical environment.Strong financial acumen: able to own the operational finance cadence in partnership with a CFO — procurement, AP/AR, CapEx planning, and budget management.Compliance operations experience: SOC 2, ISO 27001, or comparable frameworks — not as the policy author, but as the person who makes sure it gets executed.Builder mentality: you've built operating systems and processes from scratch at a company scaling fast, not inherited a mature machine. You know the difference between process that creates leverage and process that creates overhead.Direct communicator: you surface problems early, state the real tradeoff clearly, and commit once a decision is made. The Ideal BackgroundWe're not looking for a hyperscaler alumnus who has managed thousands of headcount and billions in CapEx. We're looking for someone who has run a meaningful infrastructure operation at a company closer to our stage and complexity — and who is ready to operate at COO scope.Profiles that fit well:VP or Director of Operations at a GPU cloud, HPC provider, or colocation company at Series B–D scale, ready to step into a COO seat.COO or VP Operations at a mid-market datacenter operator with multi-partner or multi-tenant revenue models. An infrastructure-focused operator from the vendor or OEM ecosystem who has transitioned to the operator side and built real P&L accountability.Someone who has scaled an infrastructure company through a rapid hardware expansion phase — managing the operational complexity of deploying, operating, and sweating depreciating GPU assets under revenue-share or contracted structures. Why FarmGPU?The market is real and the timing is right. GPUaaS is one of the fastest-growing infrastructure segments in the industry. FarmGPU has a differentiated model, production infrastructure, paying customers, and active strategic partnerships. You'll be #2 in the company with direct influence on strategy, hiring, capital allocation, and the operational decisions that determine whether FarmGPU wins. The model has leverage. Revenue-share operations with hardware partners means FarmGPU can scale revenue without proportionally scaling CapEx. Your job is to protect and expand that leverage.Strong technical foundation. The engineering team is world-class. You won't be fighting for basic infrastructure competence — you'll be building the operating layer on top of it.Located in Rancho Cordova, CA, on-site at our GPU compute facility.Compensation$160,000 - $240,000 USDFull-time, on-site position in Rancho Cordova, CA.Culture & FitFarmGPU is a small team operating serious infrastructure in one of the fastest-moving markets in tech. We optimize for leverage, speed, and truth.AI-first by default. We use AI to move faster across every function — operations included. We expect the COO to be fluent in using AI to compress work across procurement, reporting, compliance, and communications, and to build that expectation into how the operations team works.High agency. The CEO should never have to ask twice about operational status. You see what needs to happen, you drive it, you close the loop, and you proactively surface what leadership needs to know before they need to ask.Radically transparent on unit economics. We share context broadly because small teams move faster with the full picture. The COO has full visibility into financials, partner economics, and operational health — and is expected to use that visibility to make better decisions and surface the right information at the right time.Direct communication. We say the thing that needs to be said, early. Status updates that say "on track" when there's a risk are worse than no update. We prefer facts, data, and a clear path forward — especially when the answer is uncomfortable.Systems thinking. GPU infrastructure is a system. Utilization, power, procurement lead times, partner satisfaction, and headcount all interact. We value people who can see those dependencies before they become problems — and who optimize for goodput, not vanity metrics.
