Cinema & Theater Tech Manager
The Dairy Arts Center is looking for a Cinema & Theater Tech Manager to join our team in Boulder, Colorado. For over 20 years, the Dairys Boedecker Theater, home to Boulders only year-round art house cinema program, has specialized in independent, art house and international films. Our intimate theater celebrates community built on an appreciation offilm that is visually and narratively daring, timely, and vital. This new role is an opportunity to help us grow our cinema program and is primarily responsible for the operations of the Boedecker Theater while providing occasional technical backup for all Dairy theaters. This position reports directly to the Director of Programs.
Annual Salary: $40,000-45,000
40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends depending on the programming schedule
Location: This position requires employee to work in person each day

Job Responsibilities
Communicate with film distribution agencies to order product, report ticket sales, coordinate marketing, and manage The Dairys adherence to contractual obligations for cinema programming
Manage presentation media for movies including delivery, ingesting, testing, and returning to distributors
Operate and maintain cinema equipment and all other aspects of the cinema operations
Train and supervise staff in the operation of projection and sound
Provide backup technical support for live performances in the live performance venues
Work with the Director of Programs to develop audience building events and special screenings for member.
Work with the Director of Programs to choose and schedule performances and decide on the screening times of films
Participate in monthly cinema programming committee meetings
Serve as a community resource for filmmakers and arts education
Establish and maintain relationships with community groups, educators, and arts presenters to make the Boedecker Theater an integral community resource for culture, education, and the arts
Maintain positive relationships with peers, colleagues and constituencies of The Dairy Arts Center
Demonstrate commitment to the mission of The Dairy Arts Center
Maintain consistent and punctual attendance
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
A passion for cinema, particularly independent, international, and documentary film and a demonstrated knowledge of the film industry
Proficiency in cinema projection and sound technical systems required
Working knowledge of ETC lighting consoles (Ion, Element) and Qlab preferred
Ability to troubleshoot technical problems relating to lights, sound, and video projection
An interest in partnerships, programs, and initiatives centered around inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility
Management experience preferred
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, employees, volunteers, residents and the public
Ability to keep a calm demeanor and a good attitude in stressful situations
Education/Experience
Three or more years of related experience required
Bachelors degree in film or theater tech preferred
