Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $150K – $200K

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Senior Civil Structural Engineer. This opportunity is with a leading organization supporting highly technical structural engineering projects across safety-related and non-safety-related facilities.

Job Duties:
  • Perform civil structural design for complex concrete and steel structures.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, resolving technical issues and coordinating with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Lead technical activities and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Develop innovative structural design solutions using engineering analysis tools and applicable standards.
  • Prepare and review technical documents including design reports, studies, and methodology documentation.
  • Support regulatory and compliance-related engineering efforts.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
  • Perform structural analysis using advanced engineering software and post-process analytical results.
  • Support field installation activities, inspections, and project start-ups as needed.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary project teams and contribute to continuous technical improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution (advanced degree preferred).
  • 12+ years of structural design engineering experience.
  • Strong background in design and analysis of concrete and steel structures.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with structural analysis tools such as ANSYS or similar finite element software.
  • Experience working with applicable structural and building codes (ASCE, ACI, IBC, AISC, etc.).
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to lead complex engineering projects and mentor junior staff.
  • Eligibility to work on regulated engineering projects in the United States.
