We are currently searching for a talented Senior Structural (Bridge) Engineer to support our Southeast Region located in Maitland, FL . The ideal candidate will lead the engineering team’s development of construction bid documents, design and assist with business development activities. What you’ll be doing: Perform/supervise calculations and analysis for designing bridge and transportation structures using various bridge design software programs Perform/supervise load ratings on bridges of various type size and complexity Review calculations and design details developed by others Attend meetings with clients and other professionals and organizations Develop solutions to challenges presented by the client within budget, schedule and project constraints Review shop drawings and other construction related submittals Organize and maintain project files Quantity take-off for bridge project engineer’s estimate Provide oversight and direction to junior engineering staff What you need to have: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) in Florida 10 - 15 years of engineering experience in bridge design Extensive experience utilizing FDOT specific processes, manuals, or guidance on bridge projects is required, 10 years minimum Skilled in the use of MicroStation and AutoCAD, experience with OpenBridge Designer a plus Technical expertise for the layout & design of bridges and related highway structures Familiarity with rehabilitation of existing bridges and highway structures Knowledge of AASHTO and other pertinent bridge design specifications Master of Engineering preferred, but not required Post-tensioned concrete design experience a plus Characteristics of a successful Volkert team member: Be a brand ambassador for the company who engages in diversity and inclusion Be self-motivated to meet individual goals and maintain accountability in a team environment Exercise initiative and independent judgement in the solution of work problems Be able to communicate effectively - verbal and written Be able to multi-task in a team environment Volkert Perks: Competitive compensation Flexibility and a positive work/life balance Challenging and innovative projects Employee referral program Professional development Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) 401(k) retirement savings plan + employer matching Paid Time Off (PTO) and holidays Medical, Dental, & Vision Employer-Paid Life/AD&D insurance Employer-Paid short-term disability and long-term disability Wellness incentives Additional voluntary benefits Volkert does not accept unsolicited resumes from headhunters, recruitment agencies or fee-based recruitment services. #J-18808-Ljbffr
