Are you interested in providing multi-disciplinary design solutions over a wide range of engineering projects? With QRS, your projects would include urban redevelopment, public and private sector site design, roadway design, utility design, sustainable stormwater systems design, and feasibility studies.
If you are looking for even more, we offer the opportunity to work and train with our in-house Water Resources/Fisheries, Structural, and Mechanical Design Groups to provide civil design components for projects related to fish passage, stream restoration, irrigation infrastructure, power infrastructure, and bridge projects.

QRS Consulting has an immediate opening for an experienced civil engineer to assist our Civil Design Group Lead with managing civil engineering projects, preparing engineering designs, and overseeing the design and drafting efforts of our civil production staff.
You can take pride in continuing our long history of client satisfaction while providing technical engineering solutions in a nimble, personalized, small business environment.
Our clients include public redevelopment agencies, state and local government, utility companies, private sector owners, non-profit conservation groups, and other consulting firms.

We strive to provide our employees with a rewarding and challenging career that allows them to grow both professionally and personally while emphasizing a positive work-life balance.
We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our team in Boise, Idaho.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

· Civil Engineering: More than 5 years of civil engineering design experience with the ability to perform tasks on multi-disciplinary projects from project inception through construction; experience with common industry practices and the QA/QC process; Technical civil engineering expertise: experience as a consultant working with state and federal agencies, utilities, and private owners preferred; field experience including periodic on-site inspection and evaluation are desirable.

· Field Experience: Periodic travel for on-site inspection and evaluation.

· Marketing Experience: Ability to develop client rapport and long-term relationships.

· Personal Attributes: Strong communication and leadership skills; enjoys coordinating with clients, stakeholders, agencies, and members of multi-disciplinary design teams; high ethical standards; motivated to provide technical solutions to clients; appreciation for team collaboration; conscientious of how your work affects members of a design team, the client, and the general public; self-driven; thrives on the challenges of a tough project; internal drive to learn and understand technological innovation and develop unique project solutions.

Responsibilities will include some or all the following:

· Project Management, including the management of staff expectations, project schedules, and budgets for both civil and multi-discipline design teams.

· Client, stakeholder, agency, subconsultant, and multi-discipline team coordination.

· Civil engineering analysis, including modeling and calculations.

· Drawing production, including drafting and redline production.

· Specification writing.

· Site visits and project inspections, including occasional overnight travel.

· Production of alternatives analyses, construction drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.

· Provide designer support services during construction activities.

· Other engineering related tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications:

· Five or more years of experience.
Experience in consulting is preferred.

· Idaho Professional Engineering License in Civil Engineering or eligibility for comity from another state is required.

· Excellent oral and written communication in the English language.

· Knowledge and experience in the use of design codes.

Why choose us?

· We provide competitive benefits usually found at larger companies but with a small company feel, including a sense of making a personal difference in the success and direction of the company.

· We strive to customize the work environment for every employee to help you achieve your professional goals with a balanced personal life.

· Our typical project work is multi-disciplinary, “not just parking lots and subdivision layouts”.

· We practice engineering from “first principles” – problem solving that goes beyond code analysis and routine one size fits all solutions.

What do we provide:

· Fun and challenging work.

· Competitive salary based on experience, health insurance (medical, dental, and vision), short term disability, HSA with company match, 401K retirement plan with immediate vesting and up to 4% company match.

· Flexible work schedule.
