Job Description As a Civil Engineer, you will lead and support land development, residential, and site civil design projects from concept through construction. You will be responsible for preparing design plans, including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater systems, and erosion and sediment control. Job Title Civil Engineer Responsibilities Prepare design plans including site layout, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater systems, and erosion & sediment control. Perform stormwater management analysis and design, including hydrologic/hydraulic modeling in compliance with NYSDEC and NYCDEP standards. Develop erosion and sedimentation control plans, prepare permit packages, and coordinate with regulatory agencies. Produce detailed engineering drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Conduct site visits, field assessments, and collaborate with contractors, architects, and project stakeholders. Assist in preparing engineering reports, technical analyses, specifications, and cost estimates. Ensure design compliance with NY State and NYC regulations, codes, and permitting requirements. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in land development and site civil design projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Experience in stormwater management, grading, drainage design, and erosion and sedimentation control design and permitting. Familiarity with NY State and NYC project regulations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on projects in both NY State and NYC. Work Environment Work hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with a 1‑hour lunch break. The firm is a woman‑owned, fast‑paced business with a team of about 30 people, primarily engineers. The company offers a diverse portfolio and a great opportunity for growth, handling complex projects with a backlog ensuring a steady workflow. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holtsville, NY. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $68.00/hr.
