A leading architecture and engineering firm is seeking a Licensed Civil Engineer to join their team in Trevose, PA. This high-impact role is ideal for a technically skilled, field-savvy professional with at least 5 years of experience in the renovation and rehabilitation of existing buildings, especially in residential and low-rise commercial construction.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with retail centers, recreational facilities, park structures, playgrounds, or similar low-rise environments, along with strong communication abilities and a proactive approach to fieldwork and design. Key ResponsibilitiesThis role combines civil design expertise, field assessment, and direct client interaction:Project & Technical LeadershipLead and manage engineering projects from kickoff through closeout.Conduct detailed site inspections, take measurements, and perform forensic evaluations to assess existing conditions and diagnose failures.Develop and review design drawings, construction documents, technical specifications, and contractor submittals.Respond to RFIs, evaluate contractor applications, and assist during the construction phase.Coordinate with internal engineering teams across disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.Client & Team CoordinationServe as a key point of contact for property owners, contractors, and consultants.Participate in meetings, presentations, and site visits, communicating findings and recommendations clearly.Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members when applicable. Required QualificationsLicensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil Engineering.Minimum 5 years of experience with residential, multi-family, or low-rise commercial building projects.Strong background in existing building renovation, rehabilitation, or forensic assessment.Experience with retail, recreational, or community-use structures such as playgrounds or parks.Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or related design software.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Valid U.S. driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites.OSHA-10 Certification (preferred). Bonus ExperienceWood-frame construction and deck/framing design.Familiarity with AIA contract documents.Confidence in client-facing roles with a high degree of autonomy.
