Salary: $132,500.00

We have partnered with an engineering design and consulting firm in the Charlotte, NC area to provide them with a Civil Engineering Department Manager. Please review the below description and let us know if you are interested.

Prioritized Must Have Skills for the Civil Engineering Department Manager:

#1. Professional Engineer (PE)

#2. At least 8yrs of Design and Project Management experience

#3. No more than 3 jobs in the last 10yrs.

Requirements of the Civil Engineering Department Manager:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required; licensure in North Carolina and South Carolina is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in engineering design and project management.
  • Proven track record in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting, with the ability to handle tight deadlines and manage shifting project priorities and multiple clients.
  • Extensive expertise in land development, including site planning, grading design, and preparation of construction documents.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with other department managers, engineers, surveyors, and planners.
  • Experience in mentoring project managers and engineering/design staff.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and design software is preferred; the role requires familiarity with the software but does not involve performing AutoCAD design tasks.
  • Strong skills in business development and financial management.
  • Experience with codes, standards, and technical specifications from authorities having jurisdiction.
  • Proficient in developing and designing construction details.
  • Background in implementing a structured QA/QC program.
  • Collaborative with experience in presenting to boards, commissions, or councils is a plus.
  • Must pass a drug screening, background check, and meet the company's driving record (MVR) standards.

Other Key Requirements:

  • 100% in-office role.
  • No sponsorship or Visa holders. No Corp-to-Corp.
