Job Title: Civil Litigation Paralegal (3+ Years Experience)

Location: Torrington, Connecticut

Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000 per year (commensurate with experience)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our growing law practice. The ideal candidate will have strong litigation experience and the ability to support attorneys in a fast-paced office environment. Familiarity with criminal case workflow and real estate closings is a plus.

This position is ideal for a highly organized professional who can manage multiple cases, track deadlines, and assist with all stages of litigation while also supporting related legal matters.

Responsibilities

·      Draft and prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal correspondence

·      File documents with state and federal courts (including e-filing systems)

·      Manage litigation calendars and track deadlines

·      Organize and maintain case files from intake through trial

·      Assist with discovery management including document review, interrogatories, and production

·      Prepare attorneys for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials

·      Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel

·      Conduct basic legal research and assist with trial preparation

·      Assist with criminal case workflow, including scheduling, filings, and case tracking

·      Support real estate transactions by helping prepare closing documents and coordinating with lenders, title companies, and clients

Qualifications

·      3+ years of civil litigation paralegal experience required

·      Working knowledge of court procedures, filings, and litigation timelines

·      Familiarity with criminal law procedures preferred

·      Exposure to or experience with real estate closings preferred

·      Strong organizational and time-management skills

·      Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines simultaneously

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·      Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software

·      Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred
