As a Senior Civil / Municipal Engineer, you'll lead impactful municipal projects, work closely with public sector clients, and collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions. This is a full-time, career-growth-focused position based in our Mount Holly, NJ office.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership:
- Lead municipal engineering projects, including road rehabilitation, stormwater management, subdivision and land development reviews, and utility design.
- Coordinate and manage capital improvement projects for public sector clients.
- Design and Technical Expertise:
- Prepare detailed engineering reports, project proposals, and budget estimates.
- Oversee permitting and design processes for infrastructure projects, such as roadways, drainage systems, and water/wastewater utilities.
- Provide technical expertise and evaluate designs for compliance with industry standards and local regulations.
- Client and Public Engagement:
- Represent the firm at municipal planning, zoning, and land-use board meetings.
- Communicate project goals and updates effectively to stakeholders, including public officials and community members.
- Team Development and Supervision:
- Mentor and support junior staff, fostering professional growth and technical skill development.
- Supervise the work of engineering teams to ensure timely and high-quality project delivery.
- Construction Administration:
- Provide on-site construction inspection and support to ensure project specifications are met.
- Address and resolve discrepancies during construction phases in collaboration with contractors and clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (PE license required).
- 3 5 years of professional engineering experience, preferably in municipal or public sector projects.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure systems, including roadways, stormwater, and utilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Municipal Engineer (CME) credential or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS tools.
- Familiarity with hydrology and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., HydroCAD, SewerGEMS, or similar).
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects effectively.
- Proven ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.
