Description

Gessner Engineering is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to support and lead site development projects—including design of parking lots, roadways, grading, drainage, and utility layouts. This position involves hands-on production work, project planning, and coordination with clients, consultants, and internal teams.

Responsibilities may include:

• Provides production support to projects at the direction of DL and PM
• Acts as the project lead on projects congruent with experience, when assigned by PM
  • Acts as the primary design engineer
  • Communicates and coordinates with clients and design team and staff augmentation
  • Plans out project tasks, priorities, and timelines
  • Creates schematic design layouts and establishes initial design direction
• Learning and growing through application and practice
• Performs QA/QC of peer work congruent with experience
• Meets external and internal deadlines
• Communicates and coordinates with staff augmentation
• Communicates and coordinates with consultants and AHJ
• Site visits to gather preliminary site info
• Construction administration tasks (reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs)

Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
• 0-5 years of engineering experience
• Experience in the development of comprehensive construction documents

Skills and special requirements/licensing:

• Registered E.I.T. in the state of Texas
• AutoCAD Civil 3D, HY-8, Autodesk SSA, and Flowmaster experience is a plus.
