JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Description Summary Under general supervision this position performs general office support involving routine and similar clerical duties requiring general knowledge of basic office systems and procedures in a high volume area. This position allows eligible veterans and their spouses to claim Veterans' Preference pursuant to Florida Statute 295. Certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements, in the employment by the state and its political subdivisions and are encouraged to apply for the positions being filled. Applicants claiming preference are responsible for providing required documentation at the time of submitting application. For information on obtaining a DD 214 visit or call 1-866-272-6272. Minimum Education: High school education or an equivalent required. Minimum Experience/Training: One year office experience preferred. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered. Essential Functions: Daily- 50%: Performs general office support or clerical support to a work area. Daily- 30%: Takes messages, greets and directs other to appropriate person for assistance. Daily -15%: Prepares routine documents. Faxes, photocopies, and prepares materials. Other, As Needed -5%: Performs related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Contributes as a team member Frequently acts in a helping or assistant mode Standard computer and telephone skills Ability to speak a foreign language preferred Some positions may require additional telephone communication skills Ability to work with a diverse population of student, faculty and staff Competencies: Diversity and Inclusion Works effectively with all individuals and contributes to a positive environment by working with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff and external constituents.
