Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) for a top healthcare client in Kansas City, MO.

This role provides leadership and coordination of nursing care within Med-Surg or Ortho/Neuro Trauma units. The CNC ensures delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while overseeing unit operations, staff performance, and patient throughput. Working collaboratively with management and clinical teams, the CNC supports excellence in patient outcomes, engagement, and departmental performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned shifts to maintain consistent, safe, and effective patient care.
  • Oversee admission, discharge, and patient flow to ensure timely and coordinated processes.
  • Act as a clinical resource and mentor for staff nurses, promoting professional growth and development.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve quality, safety, and patient satisfaction outcomes.
  • Support staff scheduling, attendance, and productivity management in alignment with unit needs.
  • Engage in patient service recovery and uphold the hospital’s patient-first mission.
  • Maintain proper inventory control and assist in supply and equipment management.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in Med-Surg or Ortho/Trauma required
  • Prior experience as a Charge RN or supervisory nurse strongly preferred

Certifications/Licenses

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire

Skills or Competencies

  • Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
  • High level of clinical competence and critical thinking under pressure
  • Comfortable managing a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced environment
