Clinical Nurse EducatorThe Clinical Nurse Educator is a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner working under the direction of the Nursing Professional Development Manager in the Organizational Development & Learning Department. This position is primarily responsible for supporting the Inpatient staff and will therefore collaborate with Inpatient leadership.Essential DutiesOnboarding & OrientationAssists with general hospital orientation and Epic trainingWorks with department leadership to support new hires' department orientationEducation & Competency ManagementAssesses learning needs, identifies gaps, collaborates to plan, implement, and evaluate educational activities/initiatives to achieve desired outcomesFunctions as instructor/faculty for life support program and other required clinical trainingProvides formal and informal education based on the needs of the staff and organization, including but not limited to workshops, in services, drills, continuing education, competency validation, coaching, just in time training requirements, etc.Ensures compliance with all institutional, regulatory, and accreditation training requirements/standardsCompletes and maintains training documentation, measures outcomes, and shares with stakeholders as appropriateRole DevelopmentPromotes continuous growth and ongoing professional learningSupports preceptor development, leadership development, and the Transition to Practice ProgramCollaborative PartnershipsWorks with inter-professional team (i.e. within the organization, community-based, academic/practice partnerships, etc.) to achieve common goalsAssists with coordination and orientation of faculty and student interns and clinical rotations to support strong talent pipelines for the health systemResearch/Evidence-Based Practice/Quality ImprovementServes on various councils/committeesPromotes, facilitates, and/or participates in various initiatives to improve outcomesOther duties as assigned, within scope of licensure and skill setResponsibilitiesRequired ExperienceMinimum of five years of Emergency Department experience requiredExcellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skillsRequired Licensure/EducationBSN requiredCurrent Illinois RN licenseCertification within specialty or Nursing Professional Development required within 24 monthsBLS Certification upon hire and required to remain currentACLS certified within first year required and kept currentPreferred EducationMSN preferredBLS/ACLS/ PALS Instructor preferred and kept currentCertification in specialty area of clinical practice preferredRiverside Healthcare offers a comprehensive suite of Total Rewards: benefits and nationally rated employee well-being programs, competitive compensation, generous retirement offerings, programs that invest in your career development and so much more so your journey at and away from work is remarkable.
