The RN applies professional nursing judgment, clinical expertise, and regulatory knowledge to support safe, ethical, and effective client care in a behavioral health and substance use treatment environment.Principal ResponsibilitiesEnsure all documentation related to patient care, treatment, medication administration, and incidents is completed accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner in accordance with organizational policy and regulatory requirements.Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including oral, injectable, and other approved routes, while monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.Maintain and oversee medication logs and records for clients, ensuring compliance with DEA, Ohio Board of Nursing, and Board of Pharmacy requirements.Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including taking vital signs, drawing and processing labs, and identifying changes in client condition that require medical intervention.Provide emergency nursing care and first aid as needed and initiate appropriate response protocols.Prepare, administer, and monitor injections and other clinical procedures within RN scope of practice.Provide ambulatory detox groups and individual sessions for new admits into the clinical program for intentional, initial medical supportCollaborate with the nurse practitioner, providers, and interdisciplinary team to support treatment planning and continuity of care.Maintain accurate inventory, storage, and accountability of all facility medications and medical supplies.Assist with medication reconciliation, client education related to medications and health conditions, and monitoring adherence.Adhere to all organizational, departmental, ethical, behavioral, and professional standards, including client boundaries and confidentiality requirements.Maintain client medical records in accordance with organizational policy, Ohio MHAS, CARF, and other applicable regulatory standards.Maintain required licensure, certifications, continuing education, and mandatory trainings as required by the organization, Ohio MHAS, CARF, and the Ohio Board of Nursing.Maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable privacy laws at all times.Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the scope of practice of a registered nurse.Benefits and PayFull-time staff at ERTI have access to the following benefits:Medical, dental, vision coverage effective first day of employmentShort-term and long-term disability paid by employerLife insurance for employee in the amount of $25,000 paid by employer401K eligible after 3 months. 4% match with 100% vested at eligibility3 weeks paid vacation, which accrues per pay periodPaid parental leaveHSA contribution match9 paid holidays and a floating holiday per yearPet insuranceHospital indemnity, accident, and critical illness insurance optionsOn-site weight roomPay is competitive and commensurate with experience.Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Working ConditionsKnowledge of: professional nursing standards and scope of practice; safety rules and procedures; organizational policies and procedures; de-escalation techniques; medications commonly utilized in addiction treatment and behavioral health settings; general medical and nursing practices, including assessments, medication administration, and lab procedures.Abilities: ability to exercise sound nursing judgment; multitask and prioritize effectively; work independently with minimal supervision; communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; accurately document clinical information; recognize unusual, emergent, or potentially threatening conditions; maintain professional boundaries; self-schedule as assigned. Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 pounds; standing, bending, stooping, sitting, walking, reaching above and below shoulder level; repetitive use of hands to operate office equipment; and the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.Working conditions: may be exposed to clients who are emotionally distressed, angry, or potentially violent. Exposure to cleaning compounds, medications, and medical supplies. General exposure to standard office and clinical equipment, including computers, monitors, and medical devices.Qualifications and Education RequirementsDemonstrated competencies working with substance use disorder and chemically dependent populations.Active, unrestricted registered nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.Associate degree in nursing (ADN) required; bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) preferred.Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience, preferably in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or a related clinical setting.CPR and first aid certification required.Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including email.Experience using electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare-related software systems.
