Position Overview The Amatriot Group is seeking an AWS Cloud Engineer to support and maintain enterprise cloud environments supporting mission‑critical applications. This role will focus on AWS infrastructure, Linux administration, cloud security, automation, monitoring, and compliance initiatives within a highly available production environment. Key Responsibilities AWS Infrastructure and Systems Administration Deploy, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure supporting production and development environments. Administer and support Linux‑based systems within AWS. Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, operating system, networking, and security‑related issues. Cloud Security and Compliance Implement and maintain cloud security controls, access management, encryption solutions, and system hardening practices. Support compliance initiatives and security frameworks, including implementation and maintenance of controls aligned with NIST 800‑53 requirements. Assist with Authorization to Operate efforts through continuous monitoring, auditing, and documentation activities. Automation, Monitoring, and Operations Develop and maintain infrastructure automation and configuration management solutions. Monitor system health, performance, and availability using centralized logging and monitoring tools. Collaboration and Documentation Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and operations teams to support mission requirements and operational objectives. Create and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, and standard operating procedures. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, or 7 years of relevant experience with no degree. Advanced certifications, specialized training, or equivalent hands‑on experience may be considered in lieu of years of experience. Experience Experience with Linux administration and troubleshooting. Experience working with AWS services such as EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, and KMS. Skills Understanding of cloud security best practices, access control, encryption, and compliance requirements. Working knowledge of networking concepts, including routing, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. Clearance Active Top Secret security clearance is required, with willingness and ability to obtain a CI polygraph. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting NIST 800‑53 security controls, RMF processes, or ATO activities. Familiarity with continuous monitoring, centralized logging, and configuration management practices. Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar technologies. Scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages.
