Job Title: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer
Duration: 5 Months (Contract)
Location: Onsite / Hybrid (New Jersey area)
On-Call: 24x7 On-Call Rotation Required
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support and manage on-premises and cloud infrastructure environments. This role focuses on system design, installation, upgrades, monitoring, automation, backup, disaster recovery, and cloud migrations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical depth across Microsoft, Linux, and cloud platforms and be comfortable supporting complex enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, administer, and monitor physical and cloud-based infrastructure systems.
- Install, upgrade, configure, and patch operating systems, servers, and data center hardware.
- Support real-time monitoring, capacity planning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
- Plan and support infrastructure projects, including cloud migration initiatives.
- Perform impact analysis for system changes and upgrades.
- Use scripting and automation tools to improve system reliability and efficiency.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or systems engineering.
- 6+ years of experience with:
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Microsoft technologies)
- Linux server environments
- Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365
- VMware vSphere / ESXi
- DevOps tools such as GitHub, Terraform, and Ansible
- Experience planning and executing on-premises to cloud migrations.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with monitoring, backup, and recovery solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure, AWS, or Microsoft certifications.
- Experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code.
- Project management experience.
- Experience supporting enterprise or large-scale environments.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, or related field
