Cloud Solutions Architect - Strategic Cloud Partnerships

Derflan is seeking an experienced Cloud Solutions Architect to support a confidential Fortune 100 cloud technology client through a high-impact consulting engagement focused on cloud architecture, AI, technical enablement, strategic partnerships, and enterprise customer adoption. This is not a traditional Solutions Architect role. The successful candidate will collaborate across cloud engineering, partner organizations, go-to-market teams, account teams, and technical leadership to help accelerate cloud adoption, support technical strategy, and enable customer success across a highly visible cloud organization. The ideal candidate brings deep cloud architecture experience, strong customer engagement skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for helping both customers and internal technical teams succeed. Location: Preferred Santa Clara or San Francisco Bay Area for regular onsite collaboration. Role Description: Cloud Solutions Architect – Strategic Cloud Partnerships Client: Confidential Fortune 100 Cloud Technology Organization Duration: 12+ Month Consulting Engagement Employment Type: Full-Time Consulting Travel: Approximately 20% (typically once per month) Previous Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience is required. Strong cloud architecture experience is required. Enterprise customer-facing Solutions Architecture experience is required. Experience working across partner organizations, technical teams, account teams, and go-to-market organizations is required. Candidates should reside in or be willing to relocate to the Santa Clara / San Francisco Bay Area. Key Responsibilities Design scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures that help enterprise customers achieve their business objectives. Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture discussions, proof-of-concept activities, and solution design engagements. Support customers in adopting modern cloud technologies, AI workloads, and enterprise cloud solutions. Serve as a trusted technical advisor throughout the customer engagement lifecycle. Help solve complex technical challenges while balancing business and technical objectives. Technical Enablement & Strategic Collaboration Partner closely with cloud engineering, partner organizations, go-to-market teams, and account teams to accelerate cloud adoption. Develop technical enablement materials, architecture guidance, customer success stories, best practices, and technical presentations. Help educate internal technical teams on cloud solutions, architecture patterns, and customer use cases. Contribute to strategic initiatives that strengthen technical collaboration and customer success across multiple organizations. Cloud Strategy & Technical Leadership Design cloud solutions aligned with long-term customer and business objectives. Support workload optimization, benchmarking, proof-of-performance activities, and cloud performance initiatives. Collaborate with engineering teams to improve scalability, reliability, operational efficiency, and customer outcomes. Contribute to cloud architecture standards, technical documentation, and implementation best practices. Cross-Functional Leadership Build strong partnerships across engineering, partner organizations, account teams, technical leadership, and business stakeholders. Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for both technical and executive audiences. Drive alignment across highly matrixed organizations while supporting strategic cloud initiatives. Collaborate across multiple teams to improve customer adoption and technical success. Technical Thought Leadership Develop technical presentations, workshops, architecture documentation, and enablement materials. Support internal technical events, knowledge-sharing initiatives, and cloud best practices. Stay current on emerging cloud technologies, AI innovations, and enterprise architecture trends. Help improve technical readiness across internal and customer-facing organizations. Required Qualifications Previous Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience is required. 7+ years of experience in Cloud Architecture, Solutions Architecture, or Technical Consulting. Strong cloud architecture experience supporting enterprise customers. Customer-facing Solutions Architecture or technical consulting experience. Experience partnering across engineering, partner organizations, sales, account teams, and go-to-market organizations. Experience supporting enterprise cloud modernization initiatives. Excellent communication, presentation, and executive stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Self-starter with a bias for action who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced environments. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting AI or modern cloud workloads. Experience with technical enablement, technical workshops, or architecture best practices. Experience developing customer-facing technical documentation or technical presentations. Experience with cloud optimization, benchmarking, or performance analysis. Experience working across highly matrixed technical organizations. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline. Highly visible consulting engagement supporting strategic cloud initiatives. Collaborative environment working alongside senior cloud architects, engineering teams, partner organizations, and go-to-market teams.
