Cmm Inspector Apply
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
Dimensional and visual inspection of machined and fabricated products/parts for conformance to drawings and other requirements.
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Inspect (Dimensional) metallic and non-metallic machined and fabricated products/parts using drawings, schematics, engineering definition and caliper, micrometer, pin gage, designed tooling, and other inspection methods to validate dimensional conformance
- Inspect (Visual) products/parts for conformance to visual acceptance criteria, visual standards, approved samples, etc.
- Sample or 100% lot inspection of products/parts in accordance with sample plans
- Document and record inspection results on Inspection Reports or First Article Reports
- Document and record labor activities in an MRP system, for labor and product/parts accountability
- Prepare acceptance labels and tags
- Interface with customer source inspector
- Assemble products/parts as necessary in support of inspection processes
- Prepare, preserver and package products/parts for shipping in support of final inspection process
- Organize and maintain relevant documents and records
- Maintain housekeeping of personal work area and common-use company surroundings to maintain required safety and professionalism standards
- Perform destructive load testing of composite parts to confirm mfg. process stability
- Review and evaluate test results, document and assemble inspection/test data
- Other duties and compliance activities in accordance with the Quality Management System requirements
- Inspect (Dimensional)Model Based parts using Verisurf & PC-DMIS
- Writing up non-conforming parts using ERP system (Unipoint)
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Competence in mathematics required.
- Must be able to effectively use mechanical measuring instruments or be capable of learning how to use such instruments
- Must be able to read blue prints effectively or be capable of learning how to read blue prints
- Must have basic knowledge of ANSI Y-14.5 geometric dimensioning or be capable of learning geo-tolerance requirements.
- Related inspection work experience or machine shop work experience in a fast-paced work environment is preferred-First Articles experience
- Computer literate
- Must be able to Inspect Model Based parts using Verisurf & PC-Dmis using Romer Arm-CMM and Laser Tracker
- Must be able to program using Verisurf or PC-DMIS
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- High school graduation or GED required.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (speak, understand, read and write).
- Must be computer literate with at least basic skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be detail-oriented and very organized.
- Must have Aerospace Industry Experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work safely throughout our manufacturing facilities.
- Lift/move up to 40 lbs. without assistance; or greater than 40 lbs. with assistance from another person or with appropriate lift/move apparatus.
- Sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull as needed for duration of work shift.
- Able to work effectively under pressure of deadlines.
- Able to work full time, at least 8 hours a day and 5 days a week.
- Good vision required (with or without corrective lenses).
