Cnc Lathe Department Lead Set Up

Job Summary (CNC Lathe Department Lead/Set Up Machinist):

- Set up complex jobs on CNC lathes and secure first piece approval.
- Operate CNC lathes for production runs to fulfill customer orders.
- Implement strategies and priorities from the Lathe Department Manager.
- Serve as a key resource for troubleshooting and resolving machining/process issues.
- Monitor departmental production, identify bottlenecks, and suggest improvements.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and collaborate with engineering and quality teams on technical issues and process optimization.
- Promote and maintain a safe work environment with high housekeeping standards.
- Mentor, train, and support team members on safe and efficient machining practices.
- Ensure manufacturing of quality, close-tolerance parts, especially for critical industries (e.g., aerospace, defense).
- Inspect parts using appropriate measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Communicate effectively with machinists, inspectors, vendors, customers, and management.
- Uphold values of honesty, integrity, dependability, punctuality, safety, and continuous improvement.
