Title: Machinist Location : Bethpage, NY Shift : 1st Shift 4x10 (M-Th) Pay : $35.00/hr - $45.00/hr on W2! Citizenship : US Citizenship required 3 -month contract with potential extension. Responsibilities: Develops and writes programs for numerically controlled machines (CNC) using engineering specifications and drawings. Analyzes engineering drawings to define configuration of parts and determine type and sequence of machine operations. Develops programs for machining parts, tools, on numerically controlled machine tools. Makes proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as speeds, types of cutters, feeds, and control system limitations. Selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part. Basic Qualifications for Machinist 3: High school degree or equivalent trade school completion Strong working knowledge of MasterCAM software. Strong experience working with HAAS vertical and horizontal milling machines. Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Preferred Qualifications for Machinist 3: Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Aircraft part fabrication experience.
