Master Machinist / Setup Programmer (Turning Department) A leading manufacturing organization is seeking a highly skilled Master Machinist / Setup Programmer to support its CNC turning operations. This role requires deep expertise in Mazak-controlled machines, hands‑on programming at the machine, and the ability to independently take new parts from blueprint to full production with precision and efficiency. Machine Environment The role involves working across a diverse range of CNC turning equipment, including: Mazak machines (Nexus 100, 200MY, multiple 250s, 300, 350, and 6G models) Nakamura (WT-100 & WT-150) Okuma Twin Spindle with pick‑and‑place automation for lights‑out production Mori lathe and QT200 Quick Turn Citizen BNA machines with bar loaders Twin spindle and multi‑axis turning centers Additional automation‑enabled and dual spindle systems Controls & Programming Strong expertise in Mazatrol (Mazak control) - primary requirement (~80% of work) Experience with Fanuc (G & M Code) and Mitsubishi controls (~20% of work) Hands‑on programming directly at the machine controller Key Responsibilities Interpret complex blueprints and engineer machining strategies for new parts Develop and write programs directly on CNC machines using Mazatrol and G‑code Perform full machine setups, including chuck jaw boring and collet selection/modification Run initial parts, make program adjustments, and optimize for efficiency and quality Validate first article inspection to ensure conformance to specifications Create detailed tool sheets and setup documentation for repeat production Troubleshoot CNC machines and resolve technical issues independently Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to address root cause issues Support multiple setups and assist team members while maintaining productivity and quality standards Required Skills & Experience 10-15 years of experience in CNC machining, particularly in turning operations 5-8 years of hands‑on setup and programming using Mazatrol and Fanuc controls Strong experience with multi‑axis CNC turning machines such as Mazak, Okuma, and Nakamura Advanced troubleshooting skills for CNC machines and processes Expertise in precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and more Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation Ability to multitask and manage multiple setups or technical challenges simultaneously This role is ideal for a highly technical and self‑driven machinist who thrives in a fast‑paced, precision‑focused manufacturing environment and can take full ownership of machining processes from concept to production. #J-18808-Ljbffr
