PAY RATE: $29/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Job Details:

  • Job Type: Contract (12 months with potential for extension)

  • Per Diem: $110 per week (for qualified candidates).

  • Industry: Aerospace / Defense / Aviation

Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to manufacture parts, mechanisms, tools, and equipment to precise tolerances.

  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine sequence of operations, required cuts, and setup methods.

  • Use machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to perform standard shop calculations related to dimensions, tooling, feeds, and speeds.

  • Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions to lay out stock for machining; fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment.

  • Determine materials, tools, and equipment needed for each job.

  • Operate conventional and CNC machinery to produce parts and assemblies per engineering requirements.

  • Perform related functions including milling, drilling, boring, honing, grinding, deburring, and fastening.

  • Conduct routine minor machine maintenance (e.g., filter replacement, coolant checks, lubrication).

  • Monitor and verify quality using statistical process control or other verification methods.

  • Move parts within the manufacturing area using assigned shop equipment and record transactions as required.

  • Support continuous product flow by assisting and training employees of equal or lower classification.

  • Train to achieve MVP qualification (Manufacturing Verification Process).

  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership; training will be provided as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years of CNC machine operation experience (preferred).

  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical specifications.

  • Must be able to work any assigned shift.

  • Ability to stand and work an entire 8-hour shift.

  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training/experience preferred.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
