HITACHI RAIL is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated CNC Operations Team Lead who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This position is based in Batesburg, SC.


Please note:

This is a 2nd shift work hours position with a 4 day work week.

The work hours for this position are Monday - Thursday from 4:00pm - 2:30am.

As Production Supervisor, the candidate will supervisor and manage resources within the Ground Equipment Department: CNC and Machine Shop Operations.


Accountabilities:

  • Supervises staff to produce manufactured products and organizes and monitors workflow.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Plans and manages direct material flow to achieve production schedules.
  • Maintains a professional, effective and efficient work force through the development of staff.
  • Develops, enforces and maintains workforce procedures, processes and measurements that contribute to the quality of Hitachi Rail productions.
  • Enforces and maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, and maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Identifies, advises and administers applicable training necessary for resources to develop and improve necessary work skills.
  • Fosters employee involvement in achieving quality improvements, provide regular feedback and active support in pursuit of quality objectives.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, resolving problems, and reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Works independently, prioritize work schedules and ability to manage a variety of activities in varying degrees of complexity and stages of completion.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Required skills/experience:

  • 5 years of manufacturing experience of electrical systems, electronics or machining experience
  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and knowledge of machine shop/CNC operations
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing method, tools and process.
  • Positive track record supporting manufacturing safety culture.
  • Possess strong collaboration skills and positive peer interaction.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Must be able to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and program CNC mills, lathes, routers.
  • Requires mechanical knowledge for precision machining.
  • Must have experience with shop math, machining, machine tools, electronics/electrical fundamentals.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.

Education:

Associates Degree in an Electrical or Mechanical discipline OR work experience equivalent in lieu of education


Language:

English proficiency
