Position Summary:

The CNC Operator will oversee our computer numeric controlled (CNC) machines. The CNC Operator is responsible for ensuring our company produces quality parts and tools specific to engineering drawings and client standards.


Education and Knowledge:

  • Ability to read and follow written and verbal directions in English.
  • A high school diploma is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.

Experience/Skills and Competencies:

  • 3 years experience as a CNC machine operator. Will train the right candidate.
  • Good computer and mathematical skills.
  • Possess a general understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Willingness to work flexible and overtime hours as required.
  • Great attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude.
  • Ability to work under pressure.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding, and milling.
  • Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
  • Ensure the CNC machine operates in accordance with the guidelines of the company.
  • Oversee the machines while they execute the tasks and make the necessary changes to produce improved results.
  • Check machinery on a daily basis to guarantee functionality.
  • Ensure the results of the machining process align with customer expectations.
  • Sanding, cleaning and finishing parts
  • Clean up workspace at the end of every workday.
  • Maintain a clean work area through the day.
  • Keep floor clear of debris.
  • Other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

Decisions Making Scope/Supervisory Responsibility:

  • None

Other:

  • Full-time; non-exempt position
  • General working hours are from 6:00am – 2:30pm M-F but may change with prior notice.
  • Overtime may be requested as necessary.

While performing the duties of this job;

  • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time.
  • The employee is required to perform repetitive movements.
