What You'll Do: Program complex parts for CNC multi-axis lathes and mills using G-code and conversational programming, primarily on Mazak equipment Develop machine setups, perform program edits, and ensure tolerances are maintained within +/-.001" Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues proactively, demonstrating forward-thinking and problem-solving skills Read and interpret detailed 2-D shop prints, ensuring accurate documentation and updates Conduct inspections with precision tools like micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and other inspection equipment Select appropriate tooling, perform preventive maintenance, and uphold the highest quality standards aligned with customer specifications Collaborate within a team environment while working independently with minimal supervision Key Skills & Qualifications: 5+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing machining environment, with expertise in manual and CNC lathes & mills Strong proficiency in programming and troubleshooting complex parts, especially on Mazak equipment Knowledge of G-code, conversational programming, and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T) Experience working with high-performance alloys such as copper/nickel, Inconel, and stainless steels Skilled in precision measurement tools and inspection techniques Nice-to-Have Skills: Familiarity with advanced CNC software and emerging machining technologies Additional certifications in machining or quality assurance Experience working in ISO or other quality management environments Preferred Education & Experience: Technical training or certification related to CNC programming or machining preferred Over 5 years in a comparable manufacturing setting, demonstrating increasing responsibility and expertise Other Requirements: Ability to work in a loud environment near moving mechanical parts, with adherence to safety procedures Physical ability to lift/move tools and materials up to 50 pounds Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed
