OVERVIEW:

• Download and review CAD models in IPT and STEP file formats from engineering team
• Analyze part geometry, dimensions, and manufacturing requirements from technical drawings
• Use EdgeCam CAM software to generate toolpaths and convert CAD models into G-code programs
• Optimize cutting parameters, tool selection, and machining sequences for efficiency and quality
• Verify program logic and simulate machining operations before deployment to shop floor

Required Skills & Experience

• CNC Programming: Ability to program CNC machining centers
• Manual Machining: Experience with manual work on lathes, bridge ports, and other equipment
• CAD Model Conversion: Take CAD models (IPT files, STEP files) and convert to G-code using EdgeCam software
• Software Proficiency: EdgeCam (primary CAM software used)
• Complete Process: Download programs to machines and run them to produce finished parts
• Dual Capability: Both CNC programming and manual machining skills (noted as difficult combination to find)
