CNC Programmer with Live Tool – Rockford, Illinois Our customer in Rockford, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. As a CNC Programmer with Live Tool, you will be responsible for programming from print, setting up, and operating multi-axis CNC lathes equipped with live tooling using Mazatrol conversational programming. Responsibilities of the CNC Programmer with Live Tool: Program from print using Mazatrol by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches. Calculate machining requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry and prove part programs. Set up and operate multi-axis CNC lathes with live tooling and machines using Mazatrol conversational programming. Serve as direct support to the Lathe Supervisor and assist CNC machinists with programs and setups. Serve as direct support to the CNC Supervisor and assume this role in his absence. Produce high-quality parts from technical drawings with minimal supervision. Plan machining operations by studying detailed and complex blueprints and work orders and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Set up lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, and stops. Verify machine settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces and perform buddy checks. Support the CNC Lathe team through programming, verifying setups, and performing buddy checks. CNC Programmer with Live Tool Requirements and Qualifications: Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment. Minimum of 5 years of experience running CNC with live tooling and programming from print. Strong understanding of CNC programming and operation, particularly with Mazatrol and Fanuc systems. Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, and calipers. Ability to lead others.
