Job Title: COBOL Developer (US Citizen Only)

Location: Remote

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Design, code, test, and deploy COBOL programs and batch processes on mainframe systems.
  • Perform regular maintenance and updates on existing COBOL applications to enhance functionality and performance.
  • Work closely with business analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Diagnose and resolve application issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, process flows, and user guides.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Analyze and optimize existing code for improved performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate COBOL applications with modern technologies and systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior developers and new team members.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in COBOL programming, with a strong understanding of mainframe environments (CICS, JCL, DB2).
  • Proficiency in debugging and troubleshooting COBOL applications; Experience in other programming languages is a plus (e.g., Java, C#).
  • Experience working in Agile development environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Federal Experience is a plus.
  • Required Security clearance.
