Job Description
Summary:
We are currently hiring experienced Cold Header Machine Operators for full-time, direct-hire roles in the automotive manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have prior machine operating experience and a strong understanding of cold heading or metal forming processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate cold header or forging machines per production specifications
Read work orders and blueprints to determine tolerances and sequence of operations
Position and feed metal wire or workpieces through dies to form parts
Measure and inspect finished components for accuracy and quality
Perform hot or cold forging tasks such as flattening, straightening, bending, or piercing
Adjust machine settings including pressure, ram depth, and timing
Install and remove dies, hammers, cams, and guides using hand tools or hoists
Monitor machines for proper operation; troubleshoot malfunctions
Trim and finish forged components to meet final specifications
Follow all safety protocols and maintain clean work areas
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or factory manager
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 2 years of experience as a machine operator (preferably in cold heading or forging)
Able to use micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Comfortable reading technical diagrams, blueprints, and instructions
Math & Reasoning Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Able to follow verbal, written, and diagram instructions accurately
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Regular stooping, bending, and reaching as needed
Work Environment:
Industrial manufacturing setting with exposure to metalworking fluids and machinery
PPE (personal protective equipment) required and provided
