ARETUM, a leading government contracting company specializing in technology-enabled mission support services, is looking for a dynamic and experienced Collection Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all collection activities, ensuring timely collection of receivables while fostering positive relationships with clients.

ARETUM is dedicated to providing innovative solutions and excellent service to Federal clients across various sectors, including Next Generation Analytics, Engineering Services, Training Services, IT Systems, Cyber Security, PMO Support, and Financial Consulting. Your contributions will play a vital role in ensuring that our financial operations facilitate the company's mission of delivering effective and efficient solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement collection strategies to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
  • Monitor aging accounts receivable and initiate follow-ups to ensure timely payment.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the collection team to assess performance and address any challenges.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer disputes and discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain extensive documentation of collection activities and communications.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports on collection performance metrics.
  • Manage relationships with external collection agencies, when necessary.
  • Identify improvement areas for the collection process and suggest best practices.
  • Train and mentor team members to enhance skills and achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding collections and credit practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a collections role, with a proven track record of managing teams.
  • Strong understanding of collection strategies, credit policies, and accounts receivable management.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle difficult conversations with professionalism and tact.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
