Education & Experience A B.S. or B.A. degree in a related field normally required; specialized banking education and training. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in related positions normally required. Preferred Skills Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills. Proficient interpersonal relations, communicative, and sales skills. A thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank commercial products and services. A working knowledge of bank operating policies and procedures which impact commercial services. Valid driver's license. Responsibilities Develop and manage the commercial and industrial loan relationships; achieving customer service goals as established in the Commercial Services Department's annual operating plan. Jointly establish quantitative sales objectives with assigned supervisor on an annual basis; integrate with the department's annual marketing/sales plan. Solicit new business from present and prospective customers; interview applicants; maintain ongoing relationships to take advantage of cross‑selling opportunities. Provide sales information on a timely basis for inclusion in customer service and sales performance reports. Monitor individual sales performance versus objectives on a regular basis; discuss performance with supervisor frequently. Serve as a member of the bank's sales team, e.g., Sales Managers; make group sales calls to improve opportunities for new business development. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank commercial products and services to determine customer needs and make appropriate sales. Collect and analyze financial, credit, and related information; provide direct service to commercial customers regarding deposit, loan, and other miscellaneous products; approve or reject loan applications within individual lending authority; negotiate loan provisions and structures. Make presentations to appropriate loan committee. Assist customers in obtaining specialized services from other bank departments and help with specific inquiries or service problems, including loan policy. Prepare and maintain accurate records of all customer service calls made and meetings held with present and prospective customers. Monitor loan repayment activities. Abide by current laws and organization policies designed to promote a harassment‑free and discrimination‑free workplace. Cooperate with, participate in, and support adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and risk‑management practices in compliance with regulatory requirements such as CRA, BSA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, etc. Coordinate departmental tasks with coworkers inside and outside the department to ensure efficient processes and proper segregation of duties. Report pertinent information to immediate supervisor as requested or per schedule; comply with information collection and provide data to appropriate personnel. Respond to inquiries from customers, other staff, within established timeframes and policy. Maintain appropriate records and provide assigned reports. Actively participate in community activities reflecting favorably on the bank. Ancillary Duties Attend sales and trade meetings as bank representative to develop new business and gather leads. Perform tasks supportive in nature to essential functions, which may be altered or redesigned based on circumstances. Physical Requirements Occasionally ascend/descend stairs to move between floors. Occasionally position oneself in various environments, including tight and confined spaces. Occasionally remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Must be able to move about inside the office to accomplish tasks. Must assess accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work. Occasionally exposed to outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind. Occasionally work in noisy environments. Sedentary work primarily involves sitting/standing.
