The role of Commercial Estimator & Pre-Construction Manager plays a vital role at CaseCo by developing accurate, competitive estimates and managing the preconstruction phase of our commercial projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the Vice President, clients, and our project teams to deliver winning proposals and best-in-class pre-construction services. We'd love to have you on our team!

WHAT YOU WILL DO: (Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

Estimating & Cost Analysis:

  • Prepare detailed, accurate estimates for labor, material, and equipment costs.
  • Perform quantity take-offs across multiple trades to ensure cost efficiency and accuracy.
  • Research and forecast material, labor, and equipment pricing for cost estimating projects.
  • Create scopes of work and bid packages of multiple trades to ensure scope coverage.
  • Lead subcontractor buyout, bid packaging, and contract negotiations.

Pre-Construction Management:

  • Manage and coordinate preconstruction processes from schematic cost model estimating to final design and budgeting efforts.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to understand project scope and specifications.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project execution.
  • Work with project teams to develop comprehensive scopes of work for submissions, incorporating client and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide value-engineered alternatives to reduce project costs while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Lead preparation of project bids and proposals, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met and proposals meet CaseCo’s high standards.
  • Organize and lead bid meetings, pre-bid walk-throughs, and client presentations.

Customer and Industry Partner Relationships:

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, engaging with new opportunities and fostering repeat business.
  • Represent CaseCo in pre-bid meetings, presentations, and industry events.
  • Build and qualify a network of subcontractors for competitive bidding and project collaboration.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating (conceptual and hard bid) commercial construction projects for a general contractor.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy in estimation processes.
  • Strong organizational, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and projects simultaneously.
  • Proven experience in managing preconstruction phases and implementing value-engineering efforts.
  • Proficiency in construction software such as Procore, Blue Beam, On-screen Takeoff, and Microsoft 365 suite.
  • Be a United States citizen.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Be able to travel occasionally to perform site visits to support the development of cost estimates or to determine existing conditions, and to document findings to support the rationale of cost estimating analyses.
