The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the COO, the Commercial Leasing Manager will drive commercial leasing execution, tenant prospecting, and entitlement/permitting efforts across office, retail, industrial, and mixed‑use spaces. This high‑visibility role combines deal‑making with cross‑functional project coordination, working closely with public agencies, brokers, legal, and finance to secure approvals and close deals. The ideal candidate brings a hands‑on commercial real estate background with a proven track record in both leasing execution and municipal approvals.
Key Responsibilities
Leasing, Prospecting & Market Activation
Identify and pursue prospective tenants for office, industrial, and mixed‑use spaces.
Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified tenant prospects and broker relationships.
Prepare leasing materials, presentations, and market analyses to support leasing strategy.
Monitor market trends, competing projects, and tenant requirements to support leasing activity.
Entitlement, Permitting & Cross‑Functional Coordination
Manage entitlement and permitting processes from application through approval.
Collaborate with public agencies and internal teams to secure necessary approvals and maintain project timelines.
Track entitlement milestones, permitting requirements, and approval status across active projects.
Support project planning and execution efforts associated with future development opportunities.
Cross‑Functional Coordination & Reporting
Partner with brokers, legal counsel, and property management to align leasing and entitlement activities.
Maintain organized tracking and reporting of leasing activity, tenant pipeline, entitlement progress, and project milestones.
Prepare regular updates and reports for executive leadership regarding leasing performance, approvals, and project status.
Help establish effective communication and workflow processes that support efficient project execution and informed decision‑making.
Stakeholder & Broker Relations
Build and maintain professional relationships with tenants, brokers, contractors, and public agencies.
Represent the Baylands Company in leasing discussions, project coordination meetings, and stakeholder interactions.
Foster effective collaboration between external stakeholders and internal leadership teams.
Qualifications
5–8 years of commercial real estate experience, with strong experience in leasing and/or entitlements and permitting.
Proven track record of tenant prospecting, lease negotiation, and deal execution.
Knowledge of zoning, land use, CEQA/NEPA, and municipal entitlement processes.
Strong skills in negotiation, communication, project management, and cross‑functional coordination.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and real estate databases.
Experience working with property management and commercial real estate teams in a fast‑paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, Urban Planning, or a related field preferred.
