Commercial Lines Account Manager Apply
Job Description
The Opportunity
This is a compelling entry point into commercial lines for someone who is ready to develop serious technical knowledge and build lasting relationships with business clients. Commercial insurance is complex, nuanced, and deeply rewarding — and we are looking for an early-career professional who is motivated to learn it the right way. You will work directly alongside experienced commercial producers and account managers who are invested in your growth. Whether you already hold your P&C license or are working toward it, and whether your background is in insurance, business, or a related field, this role offers the structure, mentorship, and opportunity to build a real career in commercial lines.
What You'll Do
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Service and manage an assigned book of commercial lines accounts, including general liability, commercial property, business auto, workers compensation, and umbrella/excess coverage
- Act as a primary point of contact for business clients — handling inquiries, coverage questions, endorsements, certificates of insurance, and claims support
- Prepare renewal submissions, gather updated exposure information, and coordinate marketing to carriers to obtain competitive quotes
- Conduct coverage reviews and identify gaps or improvements to better protect client businesses
- Process policy changes, endorsements, cancellations, and audits accurately and on time
- Prepare proposals, summaries of insurance, and other client-facing documentation
- Collaborate with producers on new business opportunities and support the quoting and binding process
- Build and maintain organized, accurate account files within the agency management system
- Develop working relationships with underwriters and carrier representatives
Who You Are
Required
- Genuine interest in commercial insurance and a desire to understand how businesses manage risk
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to explain coverage concepts clearly to business owners
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
- Analytical mindset with an aptitude for problem-solving and learning complex products
- Proficiency with computers and a willingness to learn agency management and rating systems
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach with a professional, client-first attitude
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Active Utah Property & Casualty (P&C) license — or meaningful progress toward obtaining one
- 1–2 years of experience in commercial insurance, business operations, financial services, or a professional client-facing role
- Exposure to commercial lines products such as BOP, GL, commercial auto, workers comp, or professional liability
- Familiarity with agency management systems such as Applied Epic, AMS360, or similar
- CISR, CIC, or other insurance designation — or interest in pursuing one
What We Offer
- Structured onboarding with hands-on mentorship from experienced commercial lines professionals
- Full support for obtaining or maintaining your Utah P&C license, including study materials and exam fees
- Encouragement and support for pursuing industry designations such as CISR or CIC
- Competitive base salary and periodic bonuses including travel opportunities
- Health, dental, and vision benefits
- Paid time off and holidays
- A collaborative, people-first culture where your development is taken seriously
- A clear path toward senior account manager, producer, or other advancement opportunities
Your Growth Path
Commercial lines is one of the most skill-intensive and rewarding disciplines in the insurance industry — and we want to help you master it. In your first year, you will learn our systems, products, carrier relationships, and client base alongside a team that wants to see you succeed. As your knowledge deepens, you will take on greater account responsibility, develop your own client relationships, and grow into a trusted advisor for Southern Utah businesses. We promote from within and take a long-term view on the people we hire.
