JOB – Commissioning EngineerLOCATION – Atlanta, GATERM – ContractHOURLY RATE - $50-55 per hour.INDUSTRY – Industrial Automation / Material Handling SystemsA leading provider of advanced material handling and automation solutions is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to lead the implementation, testing, and optimization of integrated control systems. This is a highly technical, client-facing role requiring Siemens Step 7 programming expertise, and hands-on commissioning experience with modern automation hardware.The Commissioning Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or a related field (Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering preferred).Minimum of 4 years’ experience commissioning material handling or automation systems.Proven proficiency in Siemens Step 7 programming at Structured Text level.Strong knowledge of commissioning PLCs, VFDs, HMIs (primarily Allen-Bradley), and other controls hardware (e.g., barcode scanners, Hytrol EZ-Logic, Itoh Denki, Ewon remote access).Experience verifying and troubleshooting hardware/software installations to meet design and performance specifications.Familiarity with relevant industry codes and safety standards (NEC, NFPA, OSHA).Excellent analytical, documentation, and interpersonal communication skills.Self-driven with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.Willingness and ability to travel extensively for site commissioning activities.The Commissioning Engineer duties will involve:Leading the testing, verification, and optimization of automated systems to ensure full compliance with project requirements.Diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues to improve operational efficiency.Collaborating closely with engineering, contractors, and client teams throughout the commissioning process.Generating detailed commissioning reports, documenting test procedures, results, and resolution plans.Providing on-site training to clients and end-users on system operation and maintenance.Ensuring all work aligns with applicable safety and engineering standards.For more information about this Commissioning Engineer role, please apply, or contact Jack Smillie at who will be able to provide more details on the opportunity.Many thanks,Premier Group
