JPNDC is one of the countrys most productive community development corporations, aleader in leveraging resources to help families escape poverty. We provide bilingual wraparound economic mobility servicesfinancial coaching, career development, small business technical assistance and affordable childcare to close the achievement gap. We also develop affordable housing (1,200 homes so far) and facilitate low-incomecommunity leadership. Our overarching goal is our clients upward mobility andintergenerational asset-building. We serve over 3,500 people per year and have placed 1,100 people in living wages jobs.
Job Description
JPNDC is seeking a Communications Intern to join our Bridge to Prosperity team, building on-ramps and pathways to success for local justice-impacted communities.
The Communications Intern will take the community resources compiled by our teaman extensive list of food security, legal aid, CORI sealing, housing, education and employment opportunities, among othersand organize it into a public-facing online directory and a printable resource book. Your work will help connect a deeply vulnerable population to the economic and social resources it needs.
The Communications Intern will be managed by the VP of Communications and Director of Economic Mobility Services and will be responsible for:
- Drafting a print version of the resource book;
- Drafting a digital version of the resource bookif possible also designing and
- optimizing the Wordpress webpage, and
- Meeting with supervisors weekly to provide updates, ensure clarity and on-time
- completion.
- This role will require 15-20 hours per week, including 2 hours on Wednesdays,at JPNDCsoffice in Jamaica Plain, near the Stony Brook T.
WHEN: April 1 to June 21, 2024
HOURS: 15-20 hours per week, flexible schedule
WHERE: Hybrid (but should include 2 hours on Wednesdays at JPNDC)

Required Skills: Wordpress, Writing, Communication, Attention to Detail, Time Management, Organization Skills, Collaboration. Pluses but not required: third or fourth year Journalism, Communications, Marketing or similar degree track.
