Overview The City of Fate is seeking a motivated intern for a paid internship with the City Manager's Office. This internship provides hands-on experience in municipal communications and public engagement within a local government environment. The intern will assist with drafting and editing content for the City\'s website, social media platforms, newsletters, press releases, and other public-facing materials. Responsibilities may include researching topics to support messaging initiatives, developing graphics or visual content, assisting with event promotion, monitoring engagement metrics, and supporting internal and external communication efforts. The intern may also contribute to special projects related to community outreach, branding, and public information campaigns. Additional administrative tasks may be assigned as needed to support departmental operations. Responsibilities Identifies content requirements and suggests content strategies and deliverables as part of robust communications plans. Develops, manages, and posts content for the social media, website, and other platforms; maintains a consistent writing style, voice and branding across platforms. Designs and maintains communication materials, including digital content, brochures, promotional materials, and publications using a variety of media. Monitors City website for maintenance, routinely checks web traffic analytics and trains other members of staff on website. Creates, edits, and contributes to a city photo library. Assists with script writing and video production. Performs other related duties as required. Duration Internship may be extended up to a year based on organizational needs. Schedule Part-time Requirements Open to high school seniors, college students (all levels), recent graduates, and individuals pursuing non-traditional educational paths. Formal coursework in communications, public administration, journalism, marketing, political science, or a related field is helpful but not required. Equivalent experience, demonstrated interest, or a strong portfolio of work will also be considered. Skill in using Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and customer service skills. Familiarity with generative artificial intelligence. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid Class C Driver\'s License with a clean driving record.
