Join the City of South Jordan as a Communications Intern!
Are you a creative, motivated student looking for hands-on experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications? Work alongside an award-winning communications team in this paid, on-site internship (May–July 2026, $20/hour) that offers real responsibility, meaningful projects, and mentorship. Our interns graduate this program with strong portfolios, and many go on to secure competitive full-time roles in communications, marketing, and public relations.
What You'll Do & Learn About:
- Assist in creating engaging content for social media and the City website
- Write and edit public relations materials, press releases, and newsletters
- Track social media analytics to measure engagement and effectiveness
- Help develop and edit photos, videos, and digital graphics
- Support strategic projects in media relations and public outreach
- Represent the City in meetings and municipal events
Who You Are:
- A junior or senior in a public relations, marketing, communications, graphic design, or related degree program
- Have some experience in writing, editing, and digital media production
- Experienced (6+ months) in an office or administrative setting
- Knowledgeable in social media platforms, Microsoft Office, and design/editing software (preferred)
- Organized, creative, and passionate about public service
