Job Title: Communications Specialist

Location: Midwest Mission 1001 Mission Drive, Pawnee, IL 62558
Position: Full-time, in-person (with some optional remote hours)
Job Summary: The Communications Specialist assists the Communications Manager with all aspects of telling Midwest Missions story through engaging digital content, creative design, and effective communication strategies. This role supports internal and external communications, including weekly newsletters and social media, as well as website management and promotional material design. As the Communications Specialist, you will ensure consistent branding and impactful storytelling that inspires engagement and support.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Creation & Communications
- Assist in writing, designing, and publishing weekly newsletters through Virtuous CRM
- Create, schedule, and analyze social media content across Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube
- Draft articles, captions, and marketing copy for digital and print use
- Maintain and update the Midwest Mission website through WIX
- Support internal communication needs as requested by staff or leadership
- Design & Promotional Materials
- Design creative materials using Canva and Photoshop, including:
- Flyers, brochures, and promotional folders
- Monthly church bulletins
- Annual Promotional Calendar
- Merchandise (t-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, stationery, etc.)
- Capture and Curate Photo and Video Content
- Photograph and film mission activities
- Edit and produce videos
- Maintain organized photo and video libraries
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of an Associates Degree in Communications, Marketing, or Graphic Design
- 1-2 years of professional experience preferred

- Operate social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)
- Canva, Wix, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
- Photo and video production
