This is a Limited-term position which may be extended or become permanent.

Under the general direction of the Assistant Deputy Director of the Office of Community Operations (OCO), the Community Program Specialist (CPS III) will be performing and leading analytical and administrative assignments related to the Uniform Fiscal System Modernization (UFSM) and the Consumer Electronic Records Management System (CERMS) Projects. The CPS III will be responsible to provide leadership, guidance, and direction on all data needs related to federal and/or state programs. The CPS III will also work closely with program management, subject-matter experts, and development staff to facilitate communication, consultation, and development and dissemination of training materials. This CPS III will provide expertise in incorporating oversight and monitoring items into the new system(s) as well as initiate and lead workgroups to address program interests in the CERMS and UFSM platforms.
We will consider candidates from the Staff Services Manager I eligibility list; however, the appointment classification will be a Community Program Specialist III. You must meet the minimum qualifications for both classifications.
This position is eligible to participate in DDS hybrid telework schedule. Participation in telework is subject to DDS guidelines.

Department Information

The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.

These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through state-operated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
The DDS is located in a modern, sustainable and innovative office building at 1215 O Street, Sacramento, California. Some amenities of the building include:
  • First floor retail space (separate access from 12th Street)
  • Caf with multiple vendors
  • Outdoor seating for meal breaks
